It is with great sadness and annoyance that I must announce the end of the “Sraidbhaile Presents” nights at The Mezz. The myopic management have reneged on their agreement that On The Verge would be given nine Tuesdays to establish the event. On behalf of the oTv team and the musicians who rearranged their schedules to play for me, I would like to say that this despicable behaviour shows a complete lack of respect for the skills and talents of professional creative people.

I was informed, by phone, on 17th December, that, although the initial agreement was that the takings over nine Tuesdays would decide the future of this multicultural night, of original material, (Songs in 5 languages so far) the venue has pulled the plug on what would undoubtedly be the most profitable nights.

Over 80 musicians have committed themselves to my event in spite of the venue's diabolical reputation for bad acoustics and crappy equipment and I would like to sincerely thank all of them for their time and talents. Myself and Beuno worked really hard to make the musicians experience a pleasurable one (I hired a monitor every week and Beuno worked his magic on the sound) but the effort involved in organising a nine night residency with so many artists has been disregarded by the venue's so called management. ,They have also, through lack of notice, made it impossible for me to find an alternative venue
